Dennis Cohen writes short fiction for adults,
as well as novels, short fiction and non-fiction
for middle-grade readers and young adults.


"A Decent Burial," which will appear in the 2011 issue of Drash: Northwest Mosaic, is one of a series of short stories featuring Jewish themes. The others are "Charity," "A Lothario at the Cemetery," and "Sam's Temple."

His short fiction for adults also includes "Wings," "Just a Second," "A Lifetime Pass," "The Day I Heard I was Arrested," "That's Us," "Red Bus," "Doppelganger," "Imposter," "Antelope," "Brains, not Brawn," "The Process Server," and "New York, New York."

Dennis has written two novels for middle-grade readers: The Social Life of Stevie Fleischmann and The Carpool Chronicles. His short fiction for young adults includes "Limo," "Change," "Klepto," and "Security Guard."

The Big Book of Space Discovery, Schmidt-Cannon, 1999, is a non-fiction work for middle-grade readers. It is available through Amazon.

His biggest "scoop" as a nine-year-old journalist is described in a University of Pittsburgh publication recounting the development of the Salk polio vaccine:

Dennis lives with his family and a parrot in California.
